What have you replaced the Sunday meetings with?
by Glenmore ini have got into the habit of checking this forum and then going out on the deck (which we call the church of flow, it's a perch about 30' up) and playing my guitar for an hour or so - particularly on nice days like today.
then i come back in, look a bit of tv, eat, read and stuff like that.
i consider my sunday's sacred, i won't go anywhere unless i have to.

Hay
Im from England and so the lit arrangement is different in different countries, depending on how the WT is reg. Ii used to give a donation every month to the WWW (world wide work) and any "Volantary" donations from route calls etc.. went in a little purse and these also went in the collection box at the back of the hall. Im not sure if there was a price on the mags for the pubs, if there was i was never told of one, although i did get told the price of the "materials and cost to make" for any other liturature i recived £15 per incite book, BULL LOL.

Love or respect, which do you want, are you settling for less?
by Maverick instinky pantz, who was truly missed, brought out an interesting point in asking the question about who loves us.
after thinking about her question for a while i felt i could not answer it at all.
i know who i love and how i feel about certain ones in my life, but i can not say with any true belief how others really feel about me.

I don't believe that you can have love without some measure of respect. Even family members who have prehaps let you down over certain issues still hold some measure of our respect even for things which they have done in the past, which we admire and rember them for.
As for getting involved in the witnesses i think when i realsied that the only love available was conditional on obaying orders without questioning anything, that type of love is disrespectful and damaging.

Hello everyone
Im 20 years and i had been "studying" for a year, convinced that the world was going to end and if i didn't do as i was told that i would go with it. Encuraged to leave my parents and live on my own so i could reach my "potential" as young, no comitments etc...Pioneer ugggh... creepy. Discuraged from going to uni, whats the point i might well focus my energy on more "productive" things.
And then i was dignosed with Bi Polor disorder (manic Depression) and after that i went to my study and after being told that doctors were going to fill my head with "Worldly wisdom" and just to rely on Jehovah and he will sort it in the new system, and trust in his org etc.. i thought what am i doing and i left my study and never went back, stoped answering my phone etc..
I am doing sooooo much better now managed to lose waight (after an elder advised me to eat one meal a day, real sound advice) and feel so much better on my meds and going to uni next year to study sociology and english combined hons.
I have posted this to advise anyone who studying to stop, please dont listen to the fairytails of the WT because to them you are time to be handed in at the end of the month.
